Nitrous Oxide Gas

dentist puts inhalation sedative mask on his patient.

Nitrous oxide gas is the most common form of sedation used. It’s important to note that its goal is not to achieve sedation but reduce anxiety (anxiolysis). Patients will need to be monitored by pulse and oxygen monitors during use. It’s very safe to use and doesn’t require any pre-operative instructions to be followed. Patients do not require a chaperone to help them after the procedure.

When the dentist uses nitrous oxide, the patient is awake, but the tension will be relieved. The patient does not need a chaperone to help them after the procedure.
